Medal "For Courage" is a state award of the Republic of Armenia.

The Medal "For Courage" is awarded for personal courage shown in the performance of official or civil duty in conditions of danger to life in the Defence of the Fatherland and public order, as well as in rescue work.

The Medal "For Courage" is awarded to employees of the Armed Forces, the Ministries of Internal Affairs and National Security, emergency departments and customs, as well as other persons.

The law "On the Medal "For Courage" has been in force since July 26, 1993 (expired on August 9, 2014).

During the reign of the President of Armenia S. Sargsyan (since April 9, 2008) were awarded the medal to 230 people, 53 of whom - posthumously.

Of the 230 awarded, 227 are citizens of Armenia, 3 are foreign countries. All 3 awardees are citizens of foreign countries, awarded posthumously. 2 of them are citizens of the Russian Federation, 1 - of Turkmenistan.

3 of the awardees are women.
